NY Thursday was double the fun this month! Our Farm to School team held a taste test at Tioughnioga Riverside Academy with the help of 3 special guests: Faith Vavra from Congressman Anthony Brindisi’s office, Mark McMullen from New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, and Jennifer Martin, Executive Director of New York School Nutrition Association. Our guests passed out samples of Asian Cabbage Salad to students and talked to them about their thoughts on the recipe! They even got to try the all NY sourced lunch which was pasta with meat sauce, a garlic bread stick, garden salad, and New York State grape juice! Students will have the chance to enjoy Asian Cabbage Salad again as a NY Thursday menu item in May!
