On Thursday, May 23rd, farm to school coordinators, school food staff, and support organizations, gathered at the CCE Broome Agriculture Development Center in Binghamton for the annual NYS Farm to School Coordinating Committee Meeting. Updates on policy and procurement were shared, as well as new initiatives and best practices for schools around the state. New York State Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets Richard Ball and Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo kicked off the meeting with words of inspiration, and the gathering gave opportunity for insight from farm to school stakeholders across NYS. The productive annual meeting was commended by a beautiful lunch, prepared by our own Broome-Tioga BOCES chefs with local NY State ingredients. Yum! We’re already looking forward to next year!
