Growing Health Forum: SNAP & Health in the Farm Bill

Join the Food & Health Network of South Central NY and the Food Bank of the Southern Tier for a deeper look into the upcoming Farm Bill renewal and what’s at stake for food and nutrition. A panel discussion will explore the ways in which SNAP impacts health and supports communities – from access to nutritious food and chronic disease prevention to supporting local agriculture and business.

Summer 2017 Growing Health Forum:

In partnership with Leatherstocking Collaborative Health Partners and Cooperstown Farmers’ Market, FaHN hosted Growing Health: Fruit & Vegetable Prescriptions with Wholesome Wave at the Foothills Performing Arts Center in Oneonta, NY on August 31, 2017. The workshop applied a similar focus to our Binghamton, NY based event in November 2016. Co-hosting the event were the Rural Health Education Network of Schoharie, Otsego, and Montgomery Counties, and Basset Hospital Network’s Let’s Go 5-2-1-0, with sponsorship provided by Sodexo.

Fall 2016 Growing Health Forum:

In partnership with VINES, FaHN hosted Growing Health: Fruit & Vegetable Prescriptions with Wholesome Wave, a half day workshop for community-based organizations, healthcare, retail and agriculture to explore the impact of fruit and vegetable prescription programs and local opportunities.
