AmeriCorps VISTA Position: Food Access & Development Coordinator:
Fall 2017 – Fall 2018
We are seeking a passionate, hardworking AmeriCorps VISTA member to serve with the Food and Health Network! The Food Access & Development Coordinator is a critical part of the FaHN Team and will work with partners in the eight county region of Broome, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Tioga and Tompkins. The member will lead resource development efforts to support FaHN sustainability and a strong regional food system, and provide support to partner organizations engaged in food security and local food access initiatives. This position includes many opportunities for skill building and learning.
- Development efforts include membership and sponsorship campaigns, fundraising, grant writing, and collaborative resource development with partner organizations to improve food access.
- The Food Access & Development Coordinator will play a key role supporting initiatives to reduce food insecurity and improve health through Anti-Hunger Task Force’s, the Summer Food Service Program, Farm to School, Fruit & Vegetable Prescription Programs, and other initiatives. The Coordinator will also assist with updates to the Regional Food System Assessment for South Central NY and research on other critical issues.
