BANANA

  • Mashed bananas are a great substitute for oil in baking recipes, as they keep the same moist texture while adding natural sweetness. 
  • Bananas have a lower fat content and are a good source of potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin C and dietary fiber.

How to substitute for butter:

  • Use ½ as much mashed banana as the amount of butter

How to substitute for oil:

  • For Breads: Use ¾ cup mashed banana for every 1 cup of oil.
  • For lighter cakes and baked goods: Use ½ cup mashed banana for every 1 cup of oil
